Leaked Photos Of The New iPhone 4G?

Well it's iPhone season, and the rumors and fake photos have started to make their way out to the net. But it seems that Engadget has come up with some legit shots of the new 4G iPhone, and I have to say that it looks very cool. Apparently these photos came from the same source (Apple testbed) that had photos of the prototype iPad, and those turned out to be real. So it goes without saying that these photos seem to also be real and authentic.

The source also confirms that the new iPhone does have a higher resolution screen on-board, a front-facing camera, a higher resolution camera with flash, and takes MicroSIM cards. I'm a little skeptical about the MicroSim card, but I was expecting the front-facing camera and higher resolution screen and camera.

June can't get here fast enough!!!

New Star Trek Photo’s Hit The Net

I’m trying not to get my hopes up for the upcoming Star Trek prequel, as I’ve been very disappointed by these movies before. Now J.J Abrams (the guy who brought you “Lost”) is heading this one up, and does say that hard core fans most likely will be pissed off with this version. Abrams goal is to appeal to a wider audience who may not be familiar with the Star Trek lore, and will not let continuity stand in his way. Now why I can understand and appreciate a revision of a show (i.e “Battlestar Galatica), I’m not sure that this is the way to go with a franchise that has 40 years of developed history behind it.

While I’m not writing it off, it does give me pause.

Well new photos have turned up for the new movie from Empire magazine, and while you can never tell about a movie from a few stills, it certainly shows promise. Now with that kiss of death that I just gave it, watch it suck ass.

Leaked Photos Of The New MacBook?

Could these possibly be the new Macbooks that Apple has been secretively guarding? Well according to a Taiwanese website, these are leaked photos of the upcoming laptops. The new look sports Macbook Pro feel with the all aluminum body style. They certainly could be photoshop'd to hell, so definitely take this with a grain of salt.

Blackberry Thunder Out And About

While the world is getting ready for the anouncement of the new iphone 2, RIM is doing its best to upstage the party. Boy Genius Report has photos of the said iphone killer called the "Blackberry Thunder", which was conveniently made available a day before the iphone announcement. It's said to be scheduled to drop in Setember, and will be exclusive to Verizon wireless.

This might be good news to some who's reception with AT&T sucks, and won't have the option of the iphone.

Leaked Photos Of The iphone 2: iChat, 3G, Red Version

Man, our friends at Crunchgear have done us a solid!!!

Coming from their reliable sources, Crunchgear has posted leaked photos of the new iphone 2 or the 3G iphone. It seems to come from Apple or AT&T promotional material and it reveals some interesting things. First, it does seem to be thinner than the first iphone and has the tapered ends similar to the Macbook Air. But the real news isn't the Exchange support that we knew about, but the front facing camera for iChat AV.

So not only is the new iphone smaller than the original, it also comes in red for the Product (Red) campaign. So now when you buy a 3G video iChat iphone, you will be helping fight AIDS too.

According the Crunchgear:

"[UPDATE] After some painstaking image manipulation, the text of the iChat blurb reads as below:

Video just became a little more fun. Start a real time video chat with other AT&T subscribers via 3G networking, or with iChat buddies via WiFi. The video calling revolution has begun.

So you can do video chat with your iChat buddies, but only via WiFi. Otherwise it’s phone to phone. Interesting.

[UPDATE] 2 See that part about about Windows XP or Vista being needed? Many people are saying it’s proof these are fake. No, we think Apple’s launching iChat for Windows, just like they did Safari. You heard us."

Of course these could all be fake, so I guess we'll have to wait until Monday to be sure. But I sure hope that they're not.

Thanks to Crunchgear for all of this good stuff.

Guitar Hero IV Has Drums With Symbols

Details for Guitar Hero 4 have started to surface with Game Informer showing the first photos of the new drum set with symbols. It actually looks like a real electronic drum set, and it one ups Rock Band drum set by having the symbols. No word on when Guitar Hero 4 will hit the streets, or if the drum set will be compatible with any of the former versions of Guitar Hero.

Zune 3 phone: iphone Killer?

You just knew that this was coming, but I'm hopeful that Microsoft actually pulls it off. Specs and a photo of what possibly could be the Zune 3 phone are making the rounds on the Internet. With how popular the iphone is, this was an obvious move for Microsoft, and the hopes that this could be the iphone killer everyone is looking for.

The Zune 3 will have a full touch screen, Wi-Fi, IE, and will be available in 16GB and 32GB flash drives. It will also have a high quality, scratch resistant, touch-sensitive glass, and unlike the iphone, will not be restricted to one cell phone carrier. Nothing about if the phone will be 3G capable or not as of yet.

No word on availability or pricing, but we'll keep an eye out for this one.

Wi-Fi Built Into 2GB SD Card

At first look at this SD card, it seems like any other 2GB memory card that you would find in any camera. But this one does one cool thing that others do not, it has Wi-Fi built into the card. Once you take some pictures, you can upload them (via your wireless network) directly to one of 17 photo sites out there. For the price of the $99 card, you can send it to Flickr, Picasa, Shutterfly, Snapfish, Photobucket, and Facebook just to name a few.

And it works with any camera that supports the SD memory cards!!!

Very cool!

New Photo Of "Predalien" Hits The Net

A new photo and interview from the movie "Aliens vs Predator: Requiem" has made it on line courtesy of USA Today, and it looks like a Predator had a run in with a face hugger. The "Predalien" is a hybrid of both Alien and Predator, and it looks kick ass. "Aliens vs Predator: Requiem" opens on Christmas Day 2007.

So the brothers plan to bring the new film back to its roots — namely, Ridley Scott's 1979 classic, Alien.

"That movie was dark. That movie used a lot of rain," Colin says. "And that movie was scary. We want it more like the classic early Alien and Predator movies we grew up on. There's a real history to these characters," says Colin, 31. "People grew up with these characters when it was a serious franchise. We want to make it just as serious and dark as the originals."

That means cutting back on computer-generated effects. In the first two Alien films, Scott and Cameron had six alien outfits. For this AVP, the brothers have just 12.

"You're not going to see 50 digital creatures running around," Greg says. "We want to bring the franchise back to basics. That's what made them so frightening in the first place."

Sounds like the brothers might have a good one on their hands. [Mania]

LG LN790: GPS Love

Getting lost sucks!!!

But it doesn't have to happen any longer, with some of the high-end GPS systems out there. The LG LN790 takes it to a new level, with some of the best functions. Not only does it keep you from getting lost, but it can help bypass traffic delays, take hands-free calls via Bluetooth, and have the ability to play back music and photos. It also comes with a steering wheel remote, and gives you turn by turn voice guidance with street name announcements.

Now that's getting it done!!

The LG LN790 will be available in September for $699.
Read more about it after the jump. [Crunchgear]

Picasa: For Photo Nuts

One thing that I've learned about being a first time father of a 9 month old son, is that your wife will take more pictures of your kid than Brad and Angelina at an paparazzi convention. This brings up the problem of organizing all of the photos on your computer, and if you have 3 to 4 gigs of pictures, you know that this can be a problem.

If you're a Mac owner, this isn't a problem because a neat little application called iphoto comes with the computer and it can help you with this. But for the rest of the world (including myself) there's another answer to this issue. And it's called Picasa!!!

Picasa is a free application from Google that helps PC owners import, organize, edit, create photo albums, and slide shows. It will help you create screen savers with your photos, add effects with a few simple clicks. You can share your photos with others through email, prints, and on the web.

I've been using it for a while, it's very cool, and possibly the closest that I've seen an application come to iphoto.

Oh, and did I mention it was FREE!!!!

Check it out after the jump. [Picasa]
