Harmony® Adapter for PLAYSTATION®3 is out!!

Well, the wait is finally over.  Those of us who have Logitech Harmony universal remotes can finally use it to control their PS3.  In case you didn’t know, the only way previously to use a remote with your PS3 and have access to all the commands, including power on/off, was to buy Sony’s Bluetooth Remote.  Well Now you can add this little box and have access to all commands from Logitech Harmony Remotes.  It’s still a little pricey right now at $59.99, but Logitech’s prices usually go down pretty quickly.  It’s available from Logitech directly or amazon.com

Finally, Harmony remote control for PS3

3371206502_7a967d9512[1]Well, it’s about time.  Since the only viable option for this, the IRBT is about as easily available as Final Four tickets, I might have to get one of these.  Caught this on Logitech’s blog .

  • Yesterday, an Engadget reporter did some digging on an FCC Web site and uncovered our plans to manufacture an adapter that allows our Harmony remotes to control the PS3. We can’t give you all the details just yet, but we can say that this adapter will, when used with any Harmony remote, give you complete control of your movie-watching experience on PS3. It will also turn the PS3 on and off – and allow you to set up your Harmony activities to include the PS3 just as you would any other device. You also won’t need to dedicate any of your valuable USB ports to get that control

Logitech's new wireless desktop

Logitech has just released the Logitech MX5500 Revolution Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse. I found a review over at BlueTomorrow.com. This mouse ans keyboard combo really intrigues me. For at least 2 years, I was using a Logitech Keyboard and a wireless mouse and got my MS Entertainment Desktop 7000 as a way of getting rid of a lot of wires and adding bluetooth to my desktop so I could easily sync with my phone. The Logitect DiNovo always held my interest until I looked at the pricetag and then reality always set in. But this combo is coming in at around $150, and it will go down in price. I do miss having the numeric key pad on my keyboard, but I do like the fact that it does take up less desk space. One feature that looks like a geeks dream is the little LCD screen that has a zillion functions it seems (I imagine that some are completely useless, but I hope that there are people hacking new uses for it as I type this).

More on the Nokia N82

The N82 is Nokia's latest addition to its N-series lineup. Featuring a 320 x 240 TFT display, 5.0-megapixel camera w/Carl Zeiss lens, Wi-Fi, 3G support, and Bluetooth with A2DP. Video after the break. Click here for more pictures.
AGPS will get you from A to B, with Nokia Maps and a free trial of voice navigation software as standard. Shove your hand in your pocket and you'll get specific city guides to boot.

Nelson is right. This phone looks hot!! Also, I note that it plays N-Gage games, still deciding if that's a plus or a minus.

Annoying Bluetooth Video Guy

This is how annoying people sound when holding a conversation on the phone in a public place, and just because you have a bluetooth doesn't make you look any less than an idiot. Curb your Enthusiasm has a clip just to show you how asses sound, if you're this guy, please stop!!!

Samsung Bluetooth Headset: For Sweaty People

Samsung was definitely busy today with the Blackjack II, but they didn't want to send it out into the wild without some head gear. The Samsung WEP-430 Bluetooth headset is designed for the active lifestyle, and fits behind the ear to keep you from losing it while running from the cops. It has two microphones, echo reduction, Bluetooth 2.0, 5 hours of talk time, and a whopping 110 hours of standby time.

Like the Blackjack, no word on availability for the headsets. But stay tuned.

New ipod Has Bluetooth?

Does the new ipod Touch have Bluetooth?

Well if you look very closely on the right hand side, you might be able to make out the symbol. I hope that this is the case, because there are a lot of nice Bluetooth headsets waiting for a good MP3 player to come along.

We'll see in a few weeks.

New Harman / JBL headphones

Harman brand JBL has released two new sets of headphones in its Reference series. Foremost are the 610, which come with a dongle that allows volume and track adjustment on iPods, using controls located on the headphones themselves. iPods from the fourth generation onward are supported. The 610s also benefit from a Bluetooth receiver, which allows wireless interaction with devices that support A2DP stereo and/or AVRCP controls. An over-the-ear design features leather lining and a choice of black or white colors. Harman is selling the set online for $200.
The Reference 420s are identical to the 610s cosmetically, but omit both Bluetooth and iPod support, instead compensating with a higher maximum input of 50mW instead of 40. Like the 610s, the 420s are bundled with a protective case and adapters for airline and stereo phono use. Black or white versions of the 420s sell for $150 each.
Depending on how these fold up, I might have to check these out.

Nokia's New Bluetooth Headsets

So Nokia is stepping into the high end Bluetooth headset game with two new units that will turn heads. The BH-902 (pictured above) and BH-903 both have an OLED display and both have talk time of up to 15 hours. The BH-902 will alert you to MMS or SMS messages via display, although I'm not sure why you wouldn't just look at your phone. All your calls and music can be controlled via the display, and both headsets are due out in Q4 of this year, with prices of $156 and $275.

Apple Bluetooth Headset Gets FCC Approval

During the introduction of the iphone most people missed that Apple also put their hat in the bluetooth headset market. Well it looks like the good folks at the FCC have given the approval for the Apple bluetooth headset.

The details are just as limited as they were when we were first introduced to the slim headset. Let’s face it, folks. The chances of any of us getting a hold of an iPhone at launch is slim to none. But you could pick up a headset if it’d make you feel better. If you’re not too keen on Bluetooth headsets then the wired headset might suit you better as it’ll be available for sale at launch. too.

Toshiba's 12.1-inch Portege R500 is world's thinnest with disc drive

One thing that would drive me crazy about claims of 'thin' laptops is that most of them sucked. They would either not have a disc drive, lack serious horsepower or the screen would be the size of my cell phone display.

Not so with Toshiba's new entry!!!

The Portege R500 packs a first ever 7mm optical drive, 12.1-inch transflective (outdoor readable) LED-backlit screen, and does it all with a mere 0.77-inches of thickness, and a weight of 2.4 pounds. The R500 Core 2 duo U7600 1.2GHz processor, Intel GMA 950 graphics, up to 2GB of RAM, a 120GB HDD and a 1280 x 800 screen resolution. There's even a PCMCIA slot, gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth and VGA out.

The laptop starts at $2,000 with XP Pro, or $2,150 with Vista Business.
