Verizon Gets iPhone 4 February 10th!!!

It's here!!!

After many years of rumors and speculations, Verizon has announced that the iPhone 4 will be released on February 10th. Existing Verizon customers can pre-order the iPhone starting February 3rd. So what will be the biggest difference between the two carriers? Well outside of the better signal reception, Verizon will offer the unlimited data plan for $30, which is something that AT&T removed from their line up. Verizon will also allow up to 5 device connections to their iPhone 4 as a Wi-Fi hotspot, which is not available (outside of jailbraking) for the AT&T version.

The one killer problem for the Verizon iPhone 4 is the CDMA network. Although it has great coverage and reception, the network can only handle one data or voice stream at a time. Which means if you are surfing the net or downloading and you receive a call, the call takes precedence and will drop the data. I'm sure the next generation LTE iPhone will correct that issue, but as of now that is a deal breaker for me. I can't not count the times that I've been on a call and had to pull up important data for the person that I was talking to.

This is still a great day for many people who have always wanted an iPhone but couldn't switch to AT&T. Just keep in mind that Apple will announce a new iPhone in June as they always do, but this time it will be for both AT&T and Verizon.

Happy day, people..... Happy day.

Palm Pre Has A Release Date

June 6th is the release date for the newly anointed “iPhone killer” called the Palm Pre. And now people will finally have a decent reason for staying with Sprint……. At least for now. The Pre will set you back $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate, (I hate mail-in rebates!!!) and after you sell your cellular soul for 2 years to Sprint.

Think it’s a cawinky dink that the release date is 2 days before Apple’s WWDC keynote?

I get the feeling that Apple isn’t too worried.

Walt Mossberg Says iphone Will Be Here In 60 Days

Most rumors about the iphone have to be taken with a huge grain to salt, but Walt Mossberg has confirmed what we've all been waiting to hear. The version 2 iphone with 3G will be available in 60 days, and that makes sense considering that it will be the one year anniversary of the original iphone. This rumor is more solid because Walt gets his hands on the goods long before the rest of us mere mortals do. Along with Walt's statement, AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega has also hinted that the 3G iphone will be out by late May or early June. If you want to hear it from the horses mouth, check out the statement at the 6:53 mark on the video.

Hurray!!!!

PlayStation 3 DualShock 3 Controller Coming Next Week

Let's get ready to rumble!!!!!

Ok, I couldn't resist.

The DualShock 3 with rumble controller will hit the streets as early as April 14th for the PS3, and there's rumored support for existing games. Let's hope that there will be good games that come out that will be worth the $54.99 for the new controller.

$55 bucks for a controller?

WTF?

[Crunchgear]

UPDATE: This shouldn't come as much of a ... shock, but Sony is discontinuing the Sixaxis in light of the DualShock 3's arrival, according to MTV. A Sony rep says that you can likely expect them to all be gone by summertime. The practical upshot is that if your hands have become so atrophied from a lack of physical activity that you can no longer support the DualShock's heft, you may want to stock up on featherweight Sixaxises (Sixaxi?). Good night, sweet, almost comically light prince. And flights of angels (controllable with aftertouch) sing thee to thy rest.

Call of Duty 4: November Release Date

The rumor mill is once again churning with talk of the release date of 'Call of duty 4'. This time the unconfirmed rumor comes from the Website Eurogamer, which says that an unnamed source at Activision confirmed that the game will be released in Europe on November 9.

If that is the case, the game should hit the U.S. on a Tuesday on November 6th or 13th. Activision hasn't confirmed or denied the rumor, which makes me believe that the rumor may be true.

I can't wait!!!
Here is a little teaser trailer for ya.

Europe to get HTC Touch mid-June/early-July

Unless you live across the pond, this might not mean very much to you. But Europe (lucky bastards) will be getting the HTC this summer. I'm sure they're trying to fully milk the iphone touch screen insanity that is going around right now.

HTC’s partnerships with most of the major networks has scored again, with co-branded and re-cased examples of the HTC Touch coming to three of the European networks in late June/early July. First will be O2 Germany, whose XDA Nova is expected to retail SIM-free at €450 ($599) and with contract for as little as €49 ($65); that’ll be followed shortly by Vodafone Germany, with the HTC/Vodafone Touch and T-Mobile with the MDA Touch.

Although release dates for other European countries are still unknown, I can’t imagine the networks would want to miss out on marketing of this thing.

iPhone Release Pushed Back to June 29?

The latest rumor in what seems to be a neverending cycle of BS regarding the iPhone launch date comes from Engadget, again. According to their sources there will be three iPhone commercials with one that features the launch date of June 29. Everyone suspects Jobs will announce the official launch at WWDC, but apparently these commercials are slated to run next week.

But with any rumor I’ll believe it when I see it. I hope Apple’s stock doesn’t take another plunge tomorrow.
