Great deal from Steam

Capture

Steam has a great bargain for those of you that remember the classics.  They have all 5 games in the X-Com series for the low, low price of only $4.99.  That’s less than a dollar a game.  What a bargain.  I know that I own the first 2 X-Com games, but I don’t even have a floppy drive any more so I couldn’t reload the game if I wanted to.  These are probably the perfect games to add to a laptop, like I’m about to do.

I want one of these badly. And it's a steal at around $500. Check out the capacities on different media:

Not too shabby

Jump on this bargain now.

OK. For those who may remember earlier this month when I told everyone about these hot new video cards, they're here. I got mine already, an EVGA 8800GT 512MB, mainly since they have a lifetime warranty, and that warranty is transferrable. So when the next new hotness comes out, I can sell it with confidence. But this may be one of the best bargains I've seen so far. Dell.com has the MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC for only ........ $207.99. A cool 80 bucks under what I paid for mine. The only catch is that it is only shipping in about 1 to 2 weeks, but if you can stand the wait, I encourage all of you to take advnatage of this bargain. So far, video performance with this card is extrordinary. Plus mine came with a free copy of Crysis, and I couldn't play the demo at too high a resolution, but I anticipate cranking this baby up. Neverwinter Nights 2 has never performed as well as it does now (btw, this game has beautiful spell effects when you crank all the settings up). Lord of the Rings Online and World of Warcraft just look stunning.
UPDATE: There is also an XFX 8800GT 512 Card at Dell also for only $234.68. Little more reliablemanufacturer.

The time may be right for PS3

Well, the time may be upon those of us who haven't bought a PS3. Or this may be the last desperate act for a desperate company. (I don't care if it's the last act of Henry the 8th). Kudos to the first who gets that reference.

From Fatwallet.com

On 11/24 at 8:00am (running through 11:59pm on 11/25), the 80GB PS3 ($499) will come with 10 FREE Blu-ray movies instantly. You choose any 10 BD titles under $30 within the store and they will override the prices to zero. For those stores that carry BD already, additional titles are being sent in for the sale. For those that do not have BD in their store (a small minority) product will be sent to each store specifically for this sale. Oh, and you still get your 5 FREE movies by mail.

OK. It may be time to take the PS3 plunge.

UPDATE: Ok, this one has been confirmed. You can actually see it on Wal-Mart.com. Just click the 11/24 Saturday preview.
