Niko Intros Cooling Systems For Xbox 360, PS3

One of the things that I absolutely hate about my game consoles is the excessive heat that the Xbox 360 and the PS3 kick out. For the PS3, this only results in a loud fan that comes on that is as equally noisy as the Xbox 360 drive. For the Xbox 360 it gets a little more serious, with the possibility of the video card going belly up, resulting in a bricked console (I speak from experience).

Well coming in September, Nyko will intro two new cooling units designed to prevent your console from frying. The Intercooler TS for the Xbox 360 ($24.99) and the PS3 ($34.99) will hit stores, with the PS3 model offering variable fan-speed control. Both models will have “TempSmart” which automatically adjusts the cooling system, based on the temperature near the console. Both snap on the back of the console, and can be used on either horizontal or vertical.

USB SuperDock

I've had my share of USB card readers, which sometimes are a much better choice than hooking your camera up to your computer. It reads much faster and gives you more options to connect other cards. But this super USB card reader is for the geek that wants their cake, and eat it to. The multi-function dock from Brando can handle your SATA drives and a bunch of different types of storage cards (SD, MiniSD, CompactFlash, MicroSD, Memory Stick). It all can be yours for $79.00, which compared to others like it is a bit high, but it's not to bad. If you need to swap SATA drives often, this might be one that you might want to look at.

DLO’s TuneStik Packs Double Punch

How does it work that DLO has come up with yet another cool iPod add-on that I like? It works like magic. The latest offering is the TuneStik. At first look, it’s just another FM transmitter for the dock connector. But then you notice the little FM transmitter and realize it’s a combo remote control unit/FM transmitter. Cool. But then it gets even better.

DLO has included a dock pass-through, so you can still charge, sync, or whatever while the TuneStik is attached. This means you can use the wireless FM remote to control your trusty iPod with pretty much any other iPod gear you’ve got in a number of FM radio-friendly configurations. Nice.

The TuneStik doesn’t need batteries, it draws its power from the iPod’s, meaning only one thing to charge, which we like. Look for it to be made available at most retailers that sell iPod gear at about $60 soon, if not today.

Todd McFarlane creates special Halo 3 controllers for the Xbox 360

So you’ve mastered both Halo games, you can beat any of your friends with ease and you even whooped some ass in the Halo 3 beta. But you’re not hardcore until you get these special Halo Xbox 360 controllers.

Okay, so maybe that’s a bit of an overstatement, but the controllers do look pretty cool, if you’re a Halo fan. What makes them the coolest is that Todd McFarlane took the time to create the artwork for these. If you’re not familiar, that’s that guy that brought us Spawn.

According to Gamestop’s website, you’ll be able to grab these later in the year for around $60. They’ll even throw in a Halo 3 figurine from McFarlane Toys. Isn't that nice!

Clickity clack for the rest. [via joystiq]
