Nintendo's WiiWare: Make Games For Us

Nintendo is doing something that I hope that other console creators follow. For the first time game developers big and small will have an opportunity to create games for the Wii.

It isn't clear just how yet, but the ability will be there. And as always, developers will be responsible for securing an ESRB rating for their game.

Sony launches bigger, cheaper PS3 in Korea: Bastards!

The PS3 has officially been launched in Korea. What is crazy is that for some reason Sony felt the need to give them more machine for less money.

The units sold in Korea feature an 80GB hard drive, wait a second, haven’t people been complaining that Sony should release an 80GB model here in the states? Maybe they think that the Koreans wouldn’t bother buying a system with a smaller hard drive. If that’s the case they must just think we’re too stupid to care.

If that’s not bad enough, the price for one of the 80GB consoles is only around $558. So they get a bigger hard drive and pay less, thanks for that Sony. I guess you just think we’re stupid Americans, we’ll pay outrageous prices for anything. Well think again, your console is being outsold month after month by the competition over here. Maybe if you’d consider upgrading the hard drive and dropping the price people might buy one.

Alienware releases new Aurora Star Wars Edition PCs

Alienware is well known for their awesome gaming rigs and very cool cases. I have always preferred to build my own systems and use decent looking cases, but with the release of their new Aurora: Star Wars Edition PCs.

These PCs feature some very awesome Star Wars artwork that depict characters from both the Light and Dark sides. The Light Side PC shows us our favorite heroes from the original trilogy on one side, with Yoda and Obi-wan from the Prequel trilogy. The Dark Side case shows our favorite Dark Lord of the Sith with the Emperor on one side, and the Death Star and Boba Fett taking up most of the other.

Definitely a must-have for any Star Wars fan, at least for those with deep pockets. We don’t know how much these will run, but you can bet that they will cost a pretty penny.

If you’re looking for a real gaming laptop, you might want to check out this new laptop that Toshiba has announced.

The WXW notebook is based on the Santa Rosa platform with a T7300, 1GB of RAM (you can upgrade to 4GB) and a GeForce 8700M GT GPU with 256MB of dedicated memory. That will certainly be enough to power your way through most games. This is all displayed on a nice 17.1-inch screen capable of 1680 x 1050 and topped off with a nice red outer finish.

The notebook will be difficult to get though, as it is only currently slated for Japan. The starting price for these is around $1800.

Todd McFarlane creates special Halo 3 controllers for the Xbox 360

So you’ve mastered both Halo games, you can beat any of your friends with ease and you even whooped some ass in the Halo 3 beta. But you’re not hardcore until you get these special Halo Xbox 360 controllers.

Okay, so maybe that’s a bit of an overstatement, but the controllers do look pretty cool, if you’re a Halo fan. What makes them the coolest is that Todd McFarlane took the time to create the artwork for these. If you’re not familiar, that’s that guy that brought us Spawn.

According to Gamestop’s website, you’ll be able to grab these later in the year for around $60. They’ll even throw in a Halo 3 figurine from McFarlane Toys. Isn't that nice!

The birds are singing, the beer is cold, and the warm weather awaits. We’ll be on a reduced schedule this weekend and Monday while the CBT team takes a few moments to rest and relax before the feeding frenzy that will be the iPhone launch in a few weeks.
