Madden Play by Play Critique

I must apologize for not getting a more inspired/current "graphic" to represent the one part of nearly every Madden game that pisses me off. Perhaps it's fitting that I use the cover of Madden 2000 for the PlayStation; because quite frankly, I haven't seen much improvement in this series in this area.
I got really excited when I didn't have to listen to the ABSOLUTELY uninspired "faux play by play" from Pat Summerall. I thought, Al Micheal's would be a joy!


NOT.

This year I haven't gotten to actually sample how the play by play is; but now it doesn't even have Madden. This iI don't mind either; because every year he tries so hard to muster up the collective rage to focus into his "Boom - Tuff Act'in Tinnaction" that there was nothing left for the game that carries his name.

I hear now that we are left with Cris Collensworth; and some other dude I have never heard of.

First, Cris Collensworth is a POLARIZING commentator. Most people I've met around the country hate him and want to pop his chicken bone neck in half. How could adding him to the game be an improvement?!?!?

I'm not even going to waste time commenting on some dude I've never heard of who's Cris's sidekick...

What really gets me most upset is that they can do the NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA all very well. WHAT THE HELL TIBERON!!?!?!?!? IS IT THAT HARD TO DO PLAY BY PLAY!??!!?

Ok, I've gotten that off my chest. I haven't posted in a while and I had some pent up rage. Still I think it's well placed.

I guess everyone will do what they always do with each years new installment of Madden. Turn off the Commentary after 3 days lest you have a conniption fit that would make the Tasmanian devil seem like a placid lake.

GAH! I"m like nearly POSTAL over THIS!

Air Force Buys 300 PS3 For “Research”

There was always a reason why the Air Force was my favorite branch of the military, now I know why. The Air Force has purchased 300 Playstation 3 for “research” for which they state:

"The Air Force Research Laboratory is conducting a technology assessment of certain cell processors. The processors in the Sony PlayStation 3 are the only brand on the market that utilizes the specific cell processor characteristics needed for this program at an acceptable cost.”

Not that I’m some kind of conspiracy theorist, but something tells me that more gaming is going on than research. I’m thinking that it’s a massive Call of Duty 4 round up, with the winner getting a chance to fly which ever jet they choose.

I want in!

PS3 Losses Double

Profits were up for Sony in their second quarter, but there wasn't any champaign popping. Sony reported that profits were up $790M, but the Playstation division reported a loss of $844M. That's double from a year ago. Once the inventory changes are made for the PS3, Sony hopes that the Playstation division will break even.

That's a lot of hoping!!!

Sony launches bigger, cheaper PS3 in Korea: Bastards!

The PS3 has officially been launched in Korea. What is crazy is that for some reason Sony felt the need to give them more machine for less money.

The units sold in Korea feature an 80GB hard drive, wait a second, haven’t people been complaining that Sony should release an 80GB model here in the states? Maybe they think that the Koreans wouldn’t bother buying a system with a smaller hard drive. If that’s the case they must just think we’re too stupid to care.

If that’s not bad enough, the price for one of the 80GB consoles is only around $558. So they get a bigger hard drive and pay less, thanks for that Sony. I guess you just think we’re stupid Americans, we’ll pay outrageous prices for anything. Well think again, your console is being outsold month after month by the competition over here. Maybe if you’d consider upgrading the hard drive and dropping the price people might buy one.
