Parents Punk Kid On Chirstmas With Fake Xbox 360 Box
I've seen some pretty mean things done to kids, but usually not by the parents for their own amusement. Such is the case with Jonathan's parents who thought it would be funny to put a bunch of shirts in an Xbox 360 box and give it to the kid for Christmas. Better yet, they thought they would video the whole thing to relive their kid bursting into tears.
Oh... man! I just can't stop laughing at their cleverness!
Even though the family keeps saying to the kid that "you know we can't afford an Xbox 360", you just don't do that to a kid. Luckily the guys at Engadget saw the video and rightful called the entire family douchebags, and offered to get the kid and Xbox 360 and some games. From Engadget:
"Update: We've been flooded with email from well-meaning geeks and even Microsoft; just about everyone wants to help us hook up Jonathan. We think we've gotten in touch with his family (who let us know he never got an Xbox, and the whole thing was a prank), and once we know for sure it's him we'll post again."
So it looks like this kid will get a Xbox 360 after all, just don't let you're asshole family play Jonathan.

Let's hope al Qaeda isn't ordering a bunch of PS3's

Ok, On the headline I'm kidding; but back one game generation; governments were trying to make sure none of the world's countries that likely harbor terrorists ever got their hands on PS2's. Why? Because if they could reverse engineer it or use it to move ahead in the technology dept, they would have processors that could simulate 3D environments easily, or any other task they wished. And that I'm not kidding about. The chips now made by IBM for different gaming systems (specifically IBM’s Power Architecture, similar to the one used in Sony’s PlayStation 3) would really give them incredible technology that would make terrorist's plan's or equipment, much easier to acquire.
But enough of that. Let's see what else it can be used for! Lookie!! There's a new Mars Lander (named Phoenix Lander)from our folks at NASA! Literally, gaming technology is leading us to accomplish our technological dreams; like traveling to and researching other planets and probably other places too! The processing power in the PS3, X-Box360, or even the Wii is light years ahead of the technology we had back in the Voyager phase. (Though I lean towards VGER being a wee bit more powerful as exemplified in Star Trek - The Motion Picture)

Reeves: PS3 Will Lead Sales By March Of 2008

In another episode of 'We are Sony!!! Foolish Mortals!!!'
This gem is brought to you by SCEE president David Reeves, who told Gamesindustry.biz that the PS3 will conquer the next-gen console market by March 2008, and out sell the Wii and the Xbox 360 within the next 9 months. Check the quote:
"Playstation 3, you will see, will be far and away the winner when you look at it by March ’08. They really, really will." and he followed that up with this next beauty: "It’s something that is going to be a slow burner, and suddenly it’s like a tsunami; it will just overtake you,"
He also doesn't thing that the Xbox will dominate this holiday because "I honestly don’t think that just having the games on Xbox 360 is enough,".
Really?! Having great games on a console that is affordable isn't enough. People won't buy a Xbox 360 when Halo 3 hits the market, or a Wii when Smash Bros. Brawl comes out? I'm not sure what kind of stuff they're smoking at Sony, but they certainly need to share it!

Xbox 360: Case Mod With A Purpose

If you've had enough of your Xbox 360 overheating but you're to cheap to buy a cooling system, there may be another answer.
Hot Rock Cases are built to change color when your Xbox starts to reach critical mass. It doesn't do much for actually cooling the 360 down, but it will flash red at 118-degrees Fahrenheit giving you warning before it turns into a brick.
No word on pricing but you can check it out after the leap. [Maxconsole via Engadget]
