Lian Li shows off new Xbox 360 Chassis

Remember the cool-looking (and apparently, cool-running) custom Xbox 360 chassis prototype that Lian Li displayed during the CES 2008? It turns out that the company's also set up camp over at Hanover's ongoing CeBIT 2008 computer expo to set up what looks like an upgraded build of their kit.

The Lian Li booth's version of the chassis is a pre-production model, indicating that it shouldn't be too long before it hits the market. As for the other details that were unveiled regarding this new chassis:

Aluminum enclosure built to carry all the 360's components
Pre-prepared water-cooling holes
Facilities for HDMI (for the Xbox 360 Elite)
Single, low-speed 120mm fan in the rear

No release dates have been announced for this new kit yet, although it's hinted that it'll be released with a US$ 80 price tag. Drop by again in case we receive any new details regarding this mod.

This kind of intrigues me. Check out the full story here.

As we're getting amped up about the release of Halo 3 at midnight tonight, fellow Halo head Craget from the UK has taken it to another level. The Xbox 360 sits on a mound of rocks, with two master chiefs on both sides waiting to do battle. This Halo 3 case mod that he created will soon be on Ebay, so if you're dyeing for it, you'll have a chance to pick it up.

Clearly Apple makes the best server known to man kind!!!

Optimus Prime CaseMod: Girls Never Included

I'm just not sure if I should praise this guy or rip him for being a uber nerd. This Optimus Prime CaseMod was created by John Mangus who spent 300 hours over the coarse of 1 year making it. I'm sure this didn't interfere with any girlfriend time, due to lack there of.

It weighs 125 pounds and stands almost 7 feet tall, and has lockable compartments large enough to cram keyboards and other peripheral's. Hit the jump to pee your pants laughing, or worshiping the mod. [Engadget]

Xbox 360: Case Mod With A Purpose

If you've had enough of your Xbox 360 overheating but you're to cheap to buy a cooling system, there may be another answer.

Hot Rock Cases are built to change color when your Xbox starts to reach critical mass. It doesn't do much for actually cooling the 360 down, but it will flash red at 118-degrees Fahrenheit giving you warning before it turns into a brick.

No word on pricing but you can check it out after the leap. [Maxconsole via Engadget]
