The First Speed Racer Poster Has Hit The Net

I have to admit that I'm hopeful and excited about the live action Speed Racer movie. After seeing the first trailer for it, I'm even more so. So now the new poster featuring the Mach 5 and the teaser of Speed holding his helmet.

I can't wait!!!

Speed Racer Movie Trailer Hits The Net

Sorry that this is the first post of the day, I've been very sick.

If you haven't seen the trailer to the live action movie "Speed Racer" than here's your chance. Hurry, before they take it down.

Speed Racer Video Game: Coming Soon

Oh look..... It's another movie-tie in game!!!

I guess you could've seen this one a mile away, with the announcement of the upcoming Speed Racer live action movie. Warner Brothers Interactive will launch the Speed Racer game that will tie into the feature film. What is rather strange is that it will be released on the Wii and Nintendo DS and later for the PS2 during the DVD release.

The Wachowski brothers will be a big part of the development of the game, and will add their direction and assets to it. You will be able to race as any of the main characters, and the brothers describe the game play as "car-fu" style action. Check the quote from Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Development and Production, Warner Bros: “The game will capture the intensity of the racing in the film to give gamers and movie fans a chance to take the wheel after they experience the film.”

Well I hope they spend some time actually making a good movie!

New Speed Racer Cartoon

When I was growing up, I was a huge Speed Racer fan.

Now Lionsgate has announced they are working on 26 episodes of a new version of the animated series SPEED RACER. In this new series, which is not tied to the big screen adaptation, a young Speed Racer enters a racing academy for the fastest kids on Earth. He discovers that he is the son of the legendary first series' Speed Racer. And in the first few episodes, the young Speed Racer finds out that he has a brother... the new Racer X, whom he never knew existed.

The young race car driver impresses the school with his Mach 6, the most advanced vehicle in the universe, which doesn't run on gas. Speed and X team together to prevent villains from stealing the Mach 6 and to find out who's behind the mysterious disappearance of their father.

Other characters returning include the original Speed Racer's younger brother Spritle, who is now grown up and the headmaster of the racing academy. And chimpanzee Chim-Chim is now a mechanical robot. Peter Fernandez, from the original series, will voice Spritle.

Nicktoons will air the episodes.

I can't wait to see it.

Mach 5: Unveiled

When I first saw the pictures of The Mach 5 I thought it was completely CGI. I guess I was wrong. Check out the video above.

First look at the Mach 5

One of the shows that I absolutely loved when I was a kid was Speed Racer. I think that this had to be my first anime that had me in a love hold that wouldn't let go.

So it made me so happy to find out that the Wachowski brothers were working on a live action movie. I know that most of the movie will be CGI, but I'm looking forward to how the brothers will put it all together.

One thing is for sure, they have nailed the Mach 5 right on the head.

Fox is Racer X

Wachowski brothers have added Lost star Mathew Fox to the new live-action movie 'Speed Racer'.
Fox will play Racer X, the mysterious racing rival of Speed. Christina Ricci has also signed on to play the role of Trixy, Speed's girlfriend.

For those who are not old enough, this will be a live-action update of the 1960's cartoon. It centers around a young race car driver looking for glory in a gadget laden car called the Mach 5.

Shooting starts this summer in Berlin.
