"The Amazing Spiderman" Trailer Hits The Net

I don't think that this franchise needed a reboot, as the Sam Rami Spiderman isn't that old. I know that it's all the rage to make changes to a well known story (i.e. Star Trek), however when a story was just used in a movie less than ten years ago, I think it's a mistake. Take a look at the first trailer for "The Amazing Spiderman" and let me know if you think this has the same soul as the Sam Rami versions.

Green Lantern ComicCon Trailer

Well here is the ComicCon trailer for the Green Lantern that gives me a ray of hope that this movie won't suck. I still have my doubts, but at least it somewhat looks good.

Well, at least the trailer is worth your time.

Cowboys & Aliens Trailer

Trailers for 2011 summer movies must be in style today, as the new trailer for 'Cowboys & Aliens' has made its way to the net. Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig star in the unique story synopsis:

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don't welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It's a town that lives in fear.

But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.

Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he's been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents-townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors-all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

First Green Lantern Trailer Hits The Net

I still remain skeptical on this one, but the trailer does look promising (how many times have I said that before). Ryan Reynolds doesn't exactly instill confidence that this will be a good movie, as the only thing I liked him in was 'Smokin' Aces' and he didn't carry that movie.

Oh well...... I guess summer of 2011 will tell the tale...

New Digitized Footage Of 'Tron: Legacy' Hits The Net

Considering that I was just a kid when the first 'Tron' movie hit the big screen, I didn't think that I would have very much excitement for the new one. Let's face it.... When you wait 28 years to make a sequel, you run the risk of losing your core audience. With that being said, I have to say with every new trailer that comes out I'm slowly gaining interest in this new installment of the Tron franchise.

The Disney channel gives us a sneak peak of the new digitized footage in 'Tron: Legacy' movie due out 12/17/10.

Ok.  Here’s the newest Tron Legacy trailer, and I keep getting more and more excited every time I see trailers.

But I still watch the old movie and love how it looks.  I’m just a geek like that.

Mortal Kombat Movie Short Get A More Grown Up Look

I never had much for the Mortal Kombat video games, or movies for that matter. The characters seemed a bit silly and dumb, and the games nor movies ever really explained how or why they developed into "silly and dumb".

But this short pitch trailer had more plot and intrigue then all of the video games and movies ever made with the Mortal Kombat name combined. The short film was created to pitch to Warner Bros who are looking to reboot the franchise. Actors Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade and Michael Jai White as Jax gives the film a little more weight, and the R-rated feel of it certainly makes it more grown up.

If this is the direction that WB is looking to take the Mortal Kombat franchise, I'm all for it because this short film is just what is needed to breath life into it.

It certainly seems like movie trailer week, as another eagerly awaited sequel movie puts out its official trailer. Tron Legacy has been a long time coming and by the looks of this guy, we are in for a treat.

Of course the trailer could be kick ass and the movie could easily blow, so maybe I should lower my expectations?

District 9 – New Promo Trailer

Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world.

The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa’s District 9 as the world’s nations argued over what to do with them. Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens’ welfare – they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens’ awesome weaponry work. So far, they have failed; activation of the weaponry requires alien DNA. The tension between the aliens and the humans comes to a head when an MNU field operative, Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), contracts a mysterious virus, that begins changing his DNA. Terminator Salvation Trailer

OK, it looks like the new Terminator Salvation will be pretty good.  Makes you wonder what scene the guy walked into.
