Zero Punctuation reviews Final Fantasy (insert Roman Numeral here)

I can honestly say that I couldn't agree with Yahtzee more on this one. I myself haven't tried FF XIII, but having played, or at least tried to play, quite a few of them since FF VII, I have stopped even considering buying them. Now I love playing RPGs, but the emphasis is on playing. I got a little sick of watching 5-10 minute cut scenes and then getting to play for about that same amount of time. Rinse, repeat. But I digress, I might get this one from Gamefly eventually, but not for a while.

As usual, this is very NSFW, but very funny.

E3 2009: Final Fantasy News

Final Fantasy VII.

It's a very Final Fantasy E3.

First was the bombshell revelation that Final Fantasy XIV is in the works and will be an MMORPG for both the PlayStation 3 and PC, then some cool new action from Final Fantasy XIII, and now comes word that Final Fantasy VII, regarded by some as the best Final Fantasy RPG, is available right now for download on the PlayStation Network for both the PSP and the PlayStation 3.

Personally, I'm not "into" Final Fantasy. I've really tried to get into this series, as it seems to mean so much to so many people, but the truth is, I'm just not able to enjoy it. It's just not my thing. What about you? Are you into Final Fantasy? Which number is your ultimate favorite?

Dead Fantasy pt. 1

Check out this great machinima that this guy created. This is from the same guy that made Haloid (Halo / Metroid Mashup). This one combines Final Fantasy and Dead or Alive. Someone needs to get this man involved in making cgi for movies, games and it all. As cool as this vid is, check out the comment from bigmakstudios that tries to explain how it could be better. What a jerk.

Destiny’s Child Mobile Game Released: Bullet and Gun not included

I've never been into the Final Fantasy series but I know that a lot of people love them. So it breaks my heart to tell you that the company who brought you that stellar game is bringing you the new 'Destiny's Child' game!

That's right!! You heard correctly.

Square-Enix, the masterminds behind classics like Final Fantasy VII are now doing mobile games for AT&T apparently. Destiny’s Child Groove allows cellphone users of all ages to dance and move their asses to R&B grooves from Beyonce & Co. Hits like “Survivor" and “Say My Name” are included and you’ve gotta show off your hot thumb skills if you want to be the ultimate dance champion.

Somehow I've just become a little dumber for posting this.

A noose? A kingdom for a noose. Someone? Anyone? A noose please?

PS3 and 'Final Fantasy' Rumors Busted

The Internet was heating up with rumors this week involving a PS3 price drop and Sony's exclustivity with the new Final Fantasy game.

However, if you dig a little deeper into the sources of these rumors, you see that they don't really have an legs to stand on as the blog Ars Technica found out.

Basically, both rumors stemmed from third or fourth hand quotes from foreign sources. In the case of the PS3 price drop, the quote itself was very ambiguous and an answer that left the door open for any direction of speculation. The Internet just took it in the way they wanted it to go. With Final Fantasy, the quote used had been translated from the original Japanese article, possibly losing some of its subtlty.

The article is rather extensive and breaks each rumor down.
