Treo 750 Available Unlocked

In light of all the big stink of locked phones, Palm has released their first phone that isn't slave locked into a carrier. The Treo 750 is now available, unlocked from the shackles of one carrier for one device. The 750 comes with all the standard Treo stuff, but it also comes with Windows Mobile 6, 3G, and can be yours for only $549.

Uh.... Wait!

Is that more than an iphone? I think it is!

Hey guys. You know you're not going to sell a lot of these if it cost more than an iphone right?

Get Voicemail On Your Unlocked iphone

If you're a part of the Rebel Alliance and have an unlocked iphone, you may already know that the voicemail button doesn't work. But thanks to some Bothan spies (Gizmodo and iphone Dev Team), you can easily get that button working for any carrier that you're using. You won't get visual voicemail, but at least you'll have voicemail. Check it below:

1. First, take note of what your voicemail number is with your current provider (for example, in Spain the Vodafone voicemail number is 177.)

2. Click on the phone button in your iPhone.
3. Click on the keypad tab.
4. Tap the following code:

*5005*86*xxx#

The xxx is the voicemail number, in our example it will read: *5005*86*177#

5. Tap call.
6. After a second, the code will have been set.
7. Tap now on the voicemail button and it will automatically call your usual voicemail service.

This tip comes from the iPhone Dev Team wiki (which can't be linked to by their own request.)

$10K For A Unlocked iphone

You want an iphone that's unlocked but don't want to go through the trouble unlocking it yourself? Well someone was nice enough to take care of that for you, and if you have an extra $10,200 sitting around, you might have a chance at it.

That's right. Someone is selling an unlocked iphone for $10,200 on ebay. The guy originally started the bid at $540, and it just grew from there.

I know that I'm not the biggest fan of AT&T, but I don't know if I hate them enough to buy a phone for $10,000 to avoid them.

iphone Unlocked!

I know how much people hate dislike AT&T. But they usually get most of the cool phones, so you're forced to deal with them or get unlocked phones for other carriers. But for the iphone, that's been a problem because of the difficulty of unlocking it.

Not anymore!!!

These guys have done it, but will release the details later next week when they’ll have a software work around.

Check it out.

Unlocked iPhones Being Prepped?

Pure Mobile is claiming that they’ll have unlocked iPhone’s for sale, but I have to call BS on this. If the reports are true and only four million units are shipped, which equates to something like three iPhone’s per AT&T and Apple store, then Pure Mobile is doing some real heavy wheelin’ and dealin’ somewhere to ensure any non-AT&T user can get their hands on the Jesus phone.

Both models are expected to be available and unlocked, but how Pure Mobile will get around the SIM restrictions hasn’t even been touched on.

At least they were smart enough to not have an official date when the unlocked iPhones would be available.
