Apple Replacing iphones With "Dead Spots"

This doesn't seem to be a widespread issue, but according to Apple's support forums, some iphone owners are reporting "dead spots" on the iphone's screen. Mostly on the bottom part of the screen, but in some cases, all over the entire display.

Apple is being very proactive about this issue, and contacting the people who have posted these issues and replaced the iphone with a new one. Now that's customer service!!!

Why can't other companies take this approach with there products?

Cracked iphone screen

How much would this suck!

A woman dropped her newly purchased iphone from the hight of two feet (she claims), and cracked the screen. But with no insurance for these babies yet, it seems as if the woman is just screwed out of $600.

Wrong.

Apple got wind of the womans issue, and emailed her. Seems that Apple felt sorry for her and replaced the iphone for free. Her quote: "I guess they felt sorry for me."

Now that's customer service.

iPhone To Have Extensive Battery Life/ Glass Surface

Looks like Apple is really making a huge gamble on the iPhone. The Cupertino-based company just upped the ante on the iPhone by claiming its battery will provide up to eight hours of talk time. Previously, Apple said that the iPhone would only have around five hours of talk time, making this a welcome announcement to all potential owners.

Jobs also says that the iPhone will get 24 hours of audio playback time, seven hours of video playback, or six hours of Internet use. Guess that GPRS connection really drains the battery.

Also announced was that the iPhone would have a glass surface. Instead of plastic, Apple decided to give the iPhone a layer of strong glass from end to end. Dubbed as “optical-quality” glass, Apple says it will help keep the iPhone scratch-resistant. No word on shatter-resistant.

All that’s left now is to wait 11 days until it launches. Can you feel the excitement?
