PC World Magazine: Vista Is 2007 #1 Disappointment

I know that Microsoft was hoping that Vista would be number 1, just not on this list. PC World Magazine just named Vista the most tech disappointment of 2007, which I'm sure is going to piss off a lot of fanboys out there. PC World didn't all out slam Vista, on the contrary, they listed several good things about it. But almost a decade in the making, and this is all that we get?

I kinda see their point.

But don't feel to good about yourselves Apple heads!!!

Leopard was listed at number 8, with a bag of bugs like wireless connection issues, administrative logins that disappeared, data vanishing on its own, and Apple's own "Blue screen of death" as the capper. I'm not quite sure why the iphone made the number 5 list, but I'll let you read that one on your own.

Let the flame war begin.

MacBook Pro Runs Vista Faster... Until Phantom-X

You knew that this was going to happen, it was just a matter of time. It seems that the commercials for how the MacBook Pro runs Windows Vista faster than any other laptop is going to be short lived. Seem that PC World never tested a laptop that was faster than the MacBook Pro, and it wasn't until weeks later that they tested the Eurocom D900C Phantom-X, which blew the MacBook Pro out of the water by a wide margin. I'm curious to see if Apple will now stop showing their commercial now.

Ya see, benchmarks rarely last very long, and it certainly doesn't go well when they haven't tested other laptops that are faster.

That was dumb.

PC World's Article Turned Into Mac vs PC Ad

Who knew that the PC World article that said that Vista runs the fastest on a Macbook Pro, would be immortalized with a "Get a Mac" commercial. I'm sure the editors of PC World didn't, and I'm wondering with the way benchmarks change so quickly if it's still accurate.

Is it funny? Yes. But it certainly would be nice if Apple would use some of that "Innovation" crap that they parade around so much to come up with a new commercial campaign. Come on Apple, you have almost 30 of these same format commercials in the hoper, lets do something else.
