Kid Brakes Vacuum To Get Out Of Chores, Mom Sells Xbox And Pwnd MySpace Account

I love stories like this!!!

A 13-year old kid was told by his mom to do his chores instead of playing Xbox 360. The kid thought he would get out of it by intentionally braking the vacuum cleaner.

Mom wasn't having it!!!

She's selling his 360 on Craig's list along with all of his games, which are some good ones too! To add to it, she found out that he was also looking at porn by checking the cookies on the computer. Gizmodo got a chance to speak with the mom, and here's what she said:
"My 13 year old managed to break the vacuum....thinking it would release him from that duty. He also has a list of other chores that were TYPED up for him to do Friday afternoon....one thing on the list was done...mind you these are simple things...empty the trash, clean your room, etc. Then I go thru the cookies on his computer and find out he has been checking out porn sites. Now there is a password so he can't even get on and his my-space page has a picture of snoopy on it now. Apparently I'm the meanest mom in the world, were his words. I'm a single mom. I can't let them walk over me or I might never get up."

Mom's got some geek cred. I love it!!!

Apple blocks MySpace from stores: you buy now, or go home!!!

Apple is sick and tired of people coming in just to hang out, and hog their computers for hours at a time while they waste time on MySpace. Apparently people have taken to coming in, taking pictures of themselves with PhotoBooth, and uploading them to their profiles. So in response to this, Apple has blocked MySpace from all of their stores.

I guess if you're going to hang out for two hours checking out your MySpace account, chances are you're not going to buy anything. And Apple has no responsibility to provide free Web access to the general lazy population.

No YouTube or MySpace fun for US Troops

In an effort to save bandwith, the Department of Defense is blocking access to pipe-hogs like YouTube and MySpace on official computers. Many employees have put up such filters, but this is different:

"Troops and families living on U.S. bases will still be able to view the sites through private Internet networks, but the move leaves service members in Iraq and Afghanistan who use the popular picture- and video-sharing sites with little or no access to them."

I think this is kinda bogus for the government to do, considering that our troops are fighting for our right to watch stupid stuff.

I mean, isn’t the freedom to watch home movies and photos of college kids making fools of themselves exactly what our soldiers are fighting for?
