So when I got my gift card from Best Buy for buying an HD-DVD player, I also traded in my player and got another gift card. My birthday followed and I got several others. So I purchased a PS3. Now it's been solely used as a movie player, with the Wii (God Bless Mario Kart!!!) and the 360 still being the game machines.
Feeling somewhat guilty, and not wanting my PS3 to die of lack of use until Metal Gear and Final Fantasy, I purchased Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
I won't lie, it's incredibly beautiful. In full 1080p on my Aquos it's just stunning visually. And it's not a bad game at all.
But it had to install the game to my hard drive first. That took 15 minutes. Then it wanted to download and install an update. That took 25 minutes.
By the time that had all finished, I had already started playing GTA IV on my Xbox.
So my question is: Are the install times that long normally? What an annoyance!

I haven't run into long load times. Of course I only have Guitar Hero 3 for the PS3. It can't be any worse than the load times that a PC puts together.
