Vudu Adds TV Content

When the Vudu was first introduced and talked about right here, I thought it was a promising platform but just wasn't quite there yet. Only having feature films available, wasn't going to make me want to shell out the bucks to pick this up. Well the Vudu has taken another step in the right direction by adding TV content to the menu. Vudu has added 12 TV shows to its content roster, at a price of $1.99.

Here are the TV shows: 24, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Family Guy, Firefly, Lost in Space, My Name is Earl, NYPD Blue, Prison Break, The Riches, Shark, and The Shield.

If Vudu is able to offer more HD programing for TV and feature films, they could be a major player in the home media market.

VeohTV Promises a Different TV Experience Online

Joost may be getting a lot of attention lately, but it’s surely not the only new player in the TV-on-the-web game.

Veoh claims that, while Joost embraces the old-school channel style of cable TV, their VeohTV service takes it a step further with DVR-like capabilities. VeohTV lets you watch any video on the web, not just channels of pre-selected content, and allows you to record what you want to watch later. Even streaming video. VeohTV is launching in limited beta later this week and will become available to all later this year.
