1GB HDD: 20 Years Of Progress

Being caught up in our every day lives we sometimes forget how far we're come. To the left is 1GB IBM HDD, and to the right is a SD card that is the equivalent of the same 1GB.

It's amazing what 20 years of technology will bring you, isn't it?

New 8GB Pro High Speed SD Memory Card From Panasonic

With the announcement of the new Panasonic HD camcorders, they have followed this up with the introduction of a new high speed, high capacity (8GB) SD Card. The RP-SDV08GU1K has class 6 speed, with data transfer speeds of 6MB/s, and it is capable of storing 2 hours of HD content in AVCHD normal mode and around 3,080 images.

It's due out in September for about $159.

Not a bad price for an 8GB SD Card.

Treo 755p: in the wild

Lets be real: the new Treo 755p is more or less what the 700p should have been. There's not exactly anything wrong with it, just that it's been a year since the 700p came out and all the improvements to the 755p are rather minor.

It's a bit thinner and they've finally lopped off that antenna that most smartphones do not have. They swapped the SD card out for a mini SD card slot, and added a nice soft finish.

But otherwise everything is about the same.
