Blade Runner Recut FINALLY!!!!!!

Older geeks, it is time to celebrate! Younger geeks, if you haven't seen 'Blade Runner', you need to see a seminal film that deeply effected the face of Sci-fi.
perhaps you're asking, if it was recut (and it's been re-cut before to mixed reaction) how can it be considered so good? Well with the forthcoming DVD release, you'll get to see why. They are actually releasing EVERY version of this film ever made including various re-cuts; the latest is done by Ridley Scott, the original director. Thanks to the Canadian web mag CANOE and it's JAM arm for bringiing this news. Check out the full story here!

Re-shoots for 'Blade Runner' for 25th Anniversary

I've never liked remakes of movies. They rarely turn out to be as good as the first one, and most of the time they usually suck. But I've never seen a 're-shoot' of a movie that's 25 years old. Especially a movie that most Sci-Fi fans consider a classic and way ahead of it's time.

I'm not quite sure why Ridley Scott would want to re-shoot Blade Runner, even for the anniversary of the movie. But Actress Joanna Cassidy, who played the replicant Zhora in the movie has just confirmed that she and Scott reshot all of her scenes, using the original costume, which she just happened to have hanging in her closet.

I like some of what Ridley Scott has done, like Gladiator and the first Alien movie. But if he wants to re-shoot a movie, why not start with the dogs that he's made like Hannibal or G.I Jane?

Why play with a movie that most people liked?
What exactly does he think needs to be added to this film?

Read the craziness after the jump.

I think you can put this one in the 'needless' file.
