TiVo Series 3 And TiVo HD Get Upgrade

Well my HD Tivo friends, it's finally official!!!

A ton of new services for the TiVo Series 3 and TiVo HD customers are now available, and it's stuff that I think you're going to like. Services like the Multi-room Viewing which allows you to transfer shows from one Tivo to another, TiVoToGo that will allow you to transfer programs to your computer. Progressive downloads will also be available, so you can watch TiVoCast content while still downloading. And the best part of all is the eSATA, which will give you up to 600 hours external storage space with a compatible external drive.

Thanks to Gizmodo for this info.

I LOVE MY TIVO. I am so tempted to get a Series 3, but we don't always end up getting HD when we move, so that would just piss me off. But I haven't worried about storing stuff on my Series 2 anyway, the Tivo Desktop always let you copy your Tivo'd programs to your PC. And since I have 1 TB of storage in computer, and over 800GB of external storage available, I will be Tivoing to my hearts content.

Is there any way that this technology might make its way into a cable companies domain?

Like, will it be possible for individual cable companies to offer the TIVO's instead of the shit DVR devices they give people now.

Actually, let me quote MeatWad from AQTF; it will be more accurate. "I'm not right in the head."

Actually, If you have a motorola Cable box, your Tivo can control it directly. And for others, it uses a remote control blaster that changes the channel on the cable box as it needs to record. Plus, I believe, though not positive, the series 3 also utilizes cable cards.
