Another site is claiming that they have a iPhone unlocking software, and that they're not lying about it. And I have to admit that it's a new approach in the sense that they're inviting the media to submit a request to have their handset unlocked in the next 48 hours. They're only taking the "top three applicants" and state that the software unlock will go retail shortly after the 48 hours are up.
No word on pricing for this, but I'm sure if you're willing to spend $600 on a cell phone, you won't mind ponying up for the software to unlock it.
I hope it's true and people will have the option of getting away from AT&T.
We shall see.
