For anyone who's looking for an alternative to Microsoft Windows media center, Fuze just might have what you need. Fuze Media Systems has come out with their full home media system, and it's designed to be used throughout the house.
It allows for multi-streaming to all rooms, and media can be sent via Ethernet and the Fuzemini boxes. You can also use CAT-5 cables to send audio to powered amp'd wall switches. The Fuzemini box also has a HDMI out, DVD/CD drives, CableCARD for your convenience.
No word on pricing but I'm sure it will be high.
