Apple To Competitors: You Suck

I love the guys at Crunchgear, they certainly keep it real!!!

I do find it a little strange why the guys at Apple love to rub competitors noses in what ever Apple does best. Case in point this quote: “Our competitors couldn’t design an attractive-looking computer if their lives depended on it.”

That's why this comparison is so funny. Don't get me wrong the new Mac looks great, but like one of the guys at Crunchgear said: "isn’t the Dell box expandable? How about we compare a penguin and a bald eagle? I mean, they’re both birds…"

LOL

Very good. Check it out here. [Crunchgear]

Kinda sorta along these lines I thought; I'll make it easy to go to a LAN party, (do they even exist anymore?) or to school, or around the house; I'll get a laptop.

Then without thinking; i added features. I figured; it should be beefy enough to do todays games; and more.

So I now have a theoretically portable, eye freindly machine that weighs (I shit you not; over 20 pounds)

All summer I've been healing from back surgery. Luckilly my wife has been kind enough to carry it to wherever I go in the house. (Walkings not a problem anymore; but steps are still tricky.)

I have no-idea how I'm going to take this Monster Dell I've made to school. Sure, no wires anywhere, but holy crap it's heavy. Can anyone suggest a solution to this vexing problem?

Two large magnets, one for each shoe, North pole facing up. Another large magnet under your laptop, North pole facing down. It should just hover in front of you in an anti-grav sort of motion at that point, unless you need stronger magnets.

/not that you want to try that, mind you.

OK. Did Fred just mention taking a Mac to a Lan party??? You're going to take a mac to a place with a bunch of hardcore gamers. Fred......Don't do it!!!!!!

I have a great machine. If you want a PC that is small and portable, get a Shuttle SFF box. I'm on my second one (I sold my first one to a friend after buying my second one).

I'm currently using a XPC-SD39P2 (http://us.shuttle.com/barebone/Models/sd39p2.html), with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 4 GB (2x2GB) RAM, Raid 0 (2X500GB), Nvidia 7800GTOC video card and Memorex DVD burner.

Before I start overclocking, it is currently at a 5.2 Vista Experience Index.

All in a box that is 12" deep and 8" high and wide.

5.2!!!! DAMN!!!!

Sorry, Iabsolutely didn't mean a Macbook. I bought a Dell. I should have specified.

I'm very interested in the Magnet thing... Did Steve Bryk ever propose that by chance?
