NFL2K8: Move Over Madden
When the NFL gave EA exclusive rights to use the players in their league, I kinda thought that would be the end of 2K Sports. That's why NFL2K5 became such a cult classic with football fans, it was a fun, well executed game.
But 2K Sports took another route that was brilliant with NFL2K8. Since they couldn't use current players in the NFL, they went after the former players. Players like John Elway to William "The Refrigerator" Perry, and beloved players like Walter Payton and Johnny Unitas.
This might be a game worthy of our attention.

I may rent this one to try out. I tried the other 2K football games and never liked the controls. As much as Madden is arcade like, i have a problem with a 300 lb lineman running full speed and being able to instantly change directions. Unless it's tecmo bowl, I want physics to play somewhat in play.
I too have 2K5 and Techmo (Which is good enough that they ported it to X-Box years after it made it's debut.)
If 2K8 plays better than Madden (and I've thought so for some time) and people want to play a game they can ease into, 2K8 will be that game.
I've seen the demo's and it's really beautiful; and who wouldn't want to be Walter Payton, Joe Montana, Emmit Smith, Larry Zonka, Jim Brown, etc.
I will own this game; and I will enjoy playing friends who enjoy the past (and are old enough to remember it!)
