iPhone 4.0 Details?

So are you ready for more iPhone 4.0 rumors?

I'm starting to think that Apple leaks these things out themselves, in order to generate the buzz that I'm clearly part of. So without further delay, here are the new rumored updates:

  • Multi-touch gestures OS-wide
  • new ways to run applications in the background — multitasking
  • More UI changes to make the OS easier to use
  • New syncing capabilities for the calendars and contacts
  • New update is only for iPhone 3G and 3GS....... Original iPhone is officially SOL
Of course you have to take all of this with a grain of salt, but it will be made clear next Wednesday at Apple's big shindig event.

New Samsung Android device to drop in June

Samsung finally went ahead and did what we've expected them to do today with the announcement of their first Android powered handset, the I7500. Better late than ever, I say. The I7500 is no slouch in the feature department with a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch-screen, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 8GB of internal memory. It's also an HSDPA capable device with a 5-megapixel AF camera with Power LED (no clue what that is but I assume it's flash), Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, MicroSD (up to 32GB support) and a 3.5mm earphone jack. It's also pretty thin at 0.47 inches.

I doubt it will be an iPhone killer, but I hope it will keep Apple from resting on their laurels.

The Blackberry Storm: Reviewed

With all the hype that’s surrounding the Storm, Blackberry’s new flagship touchscreen. I have to admit that I want to get my hands on one just to test drive the device. Without checking it out, I’m still sure that it doesn’t measure up to the iPhone and its overall appeal, but I know that Blackberry put together a pretty solid handheld. Well the guys at Gizmodo did get a chance to fondle one, and the results might surprise you about this smartphone. Some of the strongest features of the Storm that Blackberry talks about might actually be its weakest points.

For me, no Wi-Fi in the device is a deal breaker, but there are other quirks that might bother you.

It’s a good read, check it out.

Blackjacks Hang Up: Recall/Replacement Info

I usually take the time to bash AT&T at least once a week on this blog, but for once there's a problem that may not be there fault. Blackjack owners may have been pissed off at AT&T because of random dropped calls. Well it turns out that there may have been an issue with the Blackjack itself.

According to Samsung a number of Blackjacks made between November 2006 to February 2007 might have had a glitch, that hangs up when you're not ready. While Samsung has not issued a recall on the smartphones, they are offering an exchange program for certain owners, and Crunchgear has the dirty details.

Word has it that this issue has been corrected for newer models.

I hope this is the next Blackjack

The Samsung i780 cellphone (with GPS) was first spotted on September, and at that time there wasn't many information available about the device, but yesterday Samsung finally let all the details be known during an announcement in London. With that being said, the i780 integrates 3G, HSDPA, GPS, and Wi-Fi connections in only one device, which makes it the top-notch cellphone of the i series. The TFT touchscreen that measures 2.6-inches gives a 320x320 pixels resolution, and features the Windows Mobile 6 Pro as the operative system. One cool detail is the inclusion of a mouse, that makes the stylus become part of the past. Additional features include a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2-megapixel camera plus a VGA lens located on the front so you can do video conferences, a microSD memory card slot, bluetooth, a MiniUSB 2.0 port, and an expected release date on January, for €500, close to $720.

Faux GPS Application For The iphone

One of the features that I was counting on with version 2 of the iphone was GPS, well it looks like anyone who was waiting for that might not have to wait that long.

Well kinda.

Navigation, which is a faux GPS application that you install on your iphone for FREE, that simulates what a GPS system does. They call it a peer to peer location detection, which gathers your location by determining how far you are from cell tower to cell tower. It's accurate within a few hundred feet, which is good enough to get you most places, and it's better than nothing.

Oh... did I say that it's FREE!!!

Toshiba G900: Good to Go with FCC

The badass Toshiba WM6 Pro smartphone with QWERTY, WiFi, 2MP camera, tri-band HSDPA and 800x400 touchscreen has gotten FCC approval.

So this means we'll see it in the US soon? Not necessarily. Might take a little while, but in the mean time you can always import it.

Stay tuned for more updates!!!

BlackBerry 8300 Curve: The CrackBerry you want

If you've been holding off on buying a BlackBerry, the time might be good now. The new BlackBerry 8300 Curve is the e-mail checking, media-heavy smartphone you've been waiting for!!!

Look wise, it's thin with a Pearl-like profile, full QWERTY keyboard, and a chrome finish. But you'll really want this thing for the media features it has. The reviewers at Laptop and Wired agree, this is RIM's best handheld easily blending in at the office during the day and doubling as a 'get your sexy on' smartphone at night.

Welcome to Crackberry land!!!
