Experts Say Killzone 2 Has Best Graphics.... Uh, Thanks?

Attention gamers out there!!!

If you didn’t know, there is an official “Expert” firm that lets you know which game has the best graphics. Digital Foundry, a company who makes video capture hardware wanted you to know that the game that has the best graphics is (drum roll please)…………………………. Killzone 2!

The firm states that the game does slow down during busy firefights, but overall the multi-player beta is the "undisputed winner."

Now what I’m amazed about is not that Killzone 2 has great graphics, but that there’s an actual firm out there that has to tell us how great it is. Last I checked my eyes were just fine and I could tell who had good graphics and who didn’t.

Talk about useless jobs!

Not to be outdone by the BlueRay / HD DVD wars

The video/display/graphics industry has a new standard out now called DisplayPort. This competes with HDMI, but is backed by VESA. ATI has a group of low end cards out now, [phoronix.com] which hardly seems worth the effort. And if you're a Linux fan there is no support yet for DisplayPort, but open source drivers are allegedly in the pipeline... one of these years.

I am not familiar with any technical advantages of the new standard, nor why anybody would want to switch necessarily. No benchmarks for them yet, either. So I'm fairly mystified as to why ATI would think there is an advantage in there somewhere.

We'll see.

Graphics Comparison: Xbox 360 vs. PS3

Which system has the better graphics, the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3?

Clearly it’s an important topic that needs to be addressed and GameSpot did just that. This is the second graphics comparison it has done, coming six months after the first. The idea is that, six months ago, the PS3 was still shiny and new and relatively unknown to developers in comparison to the already year-old Xbox 360.

Now that more time has passed, which system pumps out the best graphics?

I love throw downs like this!!!

A new 'Crysis'

The new game 'Crysis' is fast approaching its release date. This game may be the most ground breaking in PC games in a long time. The graphics engine is totally new, and pushes the envelope on any graphics card that is not up to speed.

Check out the look of this new game and how advanced it is after the jump.
