AT&T Pulls Data-Only Plan From Hearing Impaired

In another installment of AT&T are jags, this one comes from a AT&T store in Colorado. Seems like this store was providing hearing impaired iphone owners a data-plan only for $27.99 a month, since they don't get much use out of the voice plan.

Sounds cool right?

Well I guess some insensitive hearing assholes were complaining about it to AT&T Corporate Marketing, and they shut it down. So no more data-plan only for the hearing impaired. Once again AT&T has dropped the ball, forcing people to pay for a plan that they simply cannot use. Why can't they keep in the higher ups who have common sense?

Staples To Offer In Store Data Recorery

It looks like the hard drive giant Segate and Staples have teamed up to offer Data recovery to the masses. According to Computerworld, all 1400 stores will allow customers to bring in all types of digital media to recover lost data. Staples will provide a free evaluation to the customer to determine if the data can be recovered and at what fee. The recovery will be done on site with a 3-5 day turn around for small devices and up to a week for larger ones. If there are more difficult issues, the unit will be sent to Seagate labs to allow there techs to work on it. Once the data is recovered, it will be returned by Seagate USB device, or a 6GB Seagate pocket drive depending on the size of the data.

No word on pricing but I'm sure that it should be better than some of the other alternatives out there...cough Geek Squad cough.
