iphone To Support Enterprise

Lord Jobs held court today in front of many of his minions to announce the iphone SDK releasing in June. And just to wrap up some of the highlights, here are the bullet points by Gizmodo:

• Apple Reveals iPhone SDK
• iPhone Getting Multitouch Games Including Spore and Super Monkey Ball
• AIM Client for iPhone
• Apple to Allow VoIP Over WiFi
• Push E-mail and Calendars, Activesync and Exchange Support Coming to iPhone
• iPhone SDK Available Today for Free, $99 to Publish Your App

Out of all these things, I'm most excited about the Activesync and the Exchange Support. Now the business industry can join in on the iphone love, and Apple can sell to corporations seriously. The thing that RIM should be worried about is that unlike Blackberry, the iphone doesn't rely on a special Blackberry server, nor do you have to subscribe to their service. I work for a fortune 500 company that has to have the Blackberry server and subscriptions. How nice would it be to get rid of those servers in our environment, and just push email from Outlook to the iphone. Saving on subscription fees and server space might be very appealing to many companies out there.

I enjoyed the stock market ticker that Apple had during the show, that trended RIM's stock as it slowly went down. Nice touch Apple!

Perhaps Apple will cut into RIM's dominance.

Star Wars and Skinny Puppy's Nivek Ogre, A Fan's Perspective

Here's an interview with Ogre of Skinny Puppy talking about Films and writers that influenced him; especially the original Star Wars.

While they aren't everyone's cup of tea; I have LOVED this band since the mid eighties. Their concerts are like a horror flick live, and an incredible multimedia experience. Most importantly; they kick ass music wise. They are the cornerstone to sampling in music; not to mention Industrial Rock, Techno, Alternative music. Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails openly states how muc these pioneers influnced him, his concert production, etc.

Click here for the first page of the interview.
And here for the second page.

A good read; the man's (Ogre) got some virtues!!!! LOL
