Hallelujah!!! Copy & Paste Comes Via iPhone 3.0

I have to just say that I absolutely love my iPhone if you didn’t know already. I don’t know just how I’ve managed to live my gadget loving life as long without it. But I have to say that it is not without flaws. Some of my biggest complaints about the iPhone are finally being addressed in the latest firmware release from Apple, dubbed iPhone 3.0.

Some of the no brainer stuff is built into this upgrade, such as Copy and Paste, MMS, and Landscape mode for email and texting. But here is the list of the new stuff:

In App Purchases
Peer to Peer connectivity
Accessories API
Maps API in Apps
Turn By Turn
Push Notifications
New APIs allowing access of various iPhone hardware/software
Bluetooth Connectivity
Cut, Copy and Paste
Landscape Mode
MMS
Voice Memos
Search for Apps like Mail, iPod, Calendar...
Spotlight
New Home Screen
Stereo Bluetooth
Tethering Support

Now all they need to do is bring Flash and video recording to the iPhone, and my journey to the darkside will be complete.

What else are you looking to be added to the iPhone?

I'd love an easier way to organize the apps and which screens they are on. That concept for app management in itunes would be the way to go. http://www.iphone-hacks.com/2009/02/24/iphone-app-organizer-concept/

Running apps in the background would be the other thing I'd want.

Malcolm, 3.0 is supposed to include a new launcher with app management. And background apps will kinda be run - if you're in an app and you get a message in another, it'll let you know.

I'm still waiting for ATT to get service at my place of work. Make it happen before June so I can get the next-gen iPhone with improved battery life, video recording including a cam aimed at the user for video chat, and better-rez camera.

I didn't know that they were going to make any hardware changes to the iphone this year, other than a larger hard drive. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard any rumors about all the other cool stuff.

Those were requests, not rumors.

The one hardware rumor is double internet speeds: "a new 3G chipset starting from mid-year that would support the faster speeds while also improving battery life."
