Survey Says Apple Owners Have Sense Of Superiority: No… Really?

In another unnecessary line of surveys that tell you that guys think about sex more than women, or people who have a lot of sex have more chances of getting an STD. Such is the case with this survey taken at MacWorld, which says that Apple owners “are more liberal, less modest, and more assured of their own superiority than the population at large." No…. that just can’t be!

It goes on to say that Apple users have high indexes for "low modesty," "high perfectionism," and "high superiority". You’re kidding right? This just can’t be true. All of those “Get a Mac” commercials never come off as being smug or pretentious. This survey has to be an absolute lie, right? I don’t think that I know one Apple owner who has a “high superiority” complex. I don’t recall any Apple owner referring to PC owners as “the dark side” or saying “owning a PC is like driving a Hyundai, why do it if you can own a Mercedes”. This survey is just lies a untruths to make Apple owners look bad. It’s just not true.

Wow, I thought you were an Apple owner, considering the considerable real estate this blog devotes to all things Apple. What's the Mac vs. Dell/HP/Lenovo/Acer ratio on this site?

I can only post about what and who is making news, and lets face it, Apple makes news. They have great products from top to bottom, and you just can't ignore that and keep some credibility. When Dell/Lenovo and Acer does something good, I talk about it. It's just that Apple has done it more than those guys.

And I do talk a lot about PC stuff too. I'm just a little more open minded about both formats, that's all.

You think there might be some sampling bias in this report? It was taken at Macworld. Is this a cross section of average Mac users? Or was this a sampling of computer geeks, journalists, and company reps that think they're superior?
