Just read the article, I'm not going to rant on this one

I just ran across this article from the Dallas News. The author, Kay S. Hymowitz is a contributing editor of the Manhattan Institute's City Journal (www.city-journal .org), from whose new issue this article is adapted.

I'll let everyone else rant for a little bit before I start.

I'll start with the fact that nearly 100% of marriages between couples under 25 years old end in divorce.

Second, I'll put forth that I bet this person who wrote this piece of shit was probably of said age or younger during the birth of the counter-culture that was just as sex/drug/drink laden as now; but they wore really ugly clothes.

Third, Playing videogames has NOTHING to do with a generation who doesn't want to repeat the mistakes their parents made.

Forth, this article is pretty damn sexist.

Fifth, Women have enjoyed the equivalent of Maxim since I think the late sixties/early 70's. It's called Cosmo.

Sixth, As in the history of many young to people a bit older before, men and women today know that there are a buch of good young people dying every day in a war that quite possibly is a HUGE mistake (Remember Vietnam - Kay Hymowitz?) There are a lot more imporant things to WASTE YOUR TIME DOING THAN WRITING THIS PIECE OF SHIT HYPOCRITICAL MISREPRSENTATION OF WHAT MY GENERATION DOES TO GET THROUGH THEIR LIVES, OR GET SOME STRESS RELIEF.

I could go on; but I'm eager to hear what Malcolm has to say.

This was just fucking stupid.

Sounds like Kay S. Hymowitz has been looking for a husband with no luck, and is looking for something else to blame other than herself. Yes, men got married a lot younger back in the day. But Kay fails to mention the women's right's movement that changed how women responded to the world. When women burned their bra's, and told the world that they didn't need men to get by, that spoke volumes. Women chose career over families, or at least put off families until their biological clock was in the red. That has contributed to late year marriages, and to suggest that it's because men don't want to grow up is just insane.

Kay wants to say that only marriage and kids will make a man grow up, That is just dumb. There are plenty of men who have successful careers, travel the world, own businesses, and do many things without being married. It just makes me laugh when a women hasn't gotten married by a certain age, it's panic time. If a man hasn't gotten married by a certain age, he's immature.

Kay talked about the movie "Knocked up" and how a immature goof only grew up after he got a girl pregnant. She fail to mention the other couple in the movie who had gotten married early in life and had two kids, and the man was absolutely miserable! Not because he was married and had kids, but because he felt like his wife wouldn't allow him to do the things that made him happy; the things that made him feel like a man.

Pretty big miss there Kay!!!

Kay please stop blaming Xbox and Maxium for people not marrying at a early age. Games, pin up girls, and playboy have been around a long time before this so called problem came around. You might want to look at women, and the changes that they've decided to go through over the last 50 years. If women are ready to go back to the days of having my dinner and slippers waiting for me when I get home from work, bare foot and pregnant, and subservient to men again, we can do that.

But you can't have it both ways.
