Yesterday I got my registered firmware update for my Toshiba A-20. I imagined the timing couldn't be better, as both the entire Harry Potter series and the Bourne Ultimatum were released today. Multiple features in these series, from being able to publish your favorite scenes of Potter into a web site. It's fascinating.
But the picture quality is amazing. They're built for a 16:9 1080p signal, and you can very obviously tell. The contrast, especially in Potter during the scenes at the ministry with all of the blackness, is utterly astounding. Such clear definition.
Again, I couldn't recommend HD-DVD any more. And with the ability to upgrade firmware and always support any future released movie, cannot be topped. And again, no matter what player you purchase, you will never miss any features in any of the movies.
Run away from Blu-Ray!
