I still have iPods from years past. None of the models I have are current. And I'm hoping to get an iPod touch so I can have WiFi internet at work without lugging a laptop around. Gimmeabreak. I think it's great that they keep upgrading.
You honestly think it's a bad thing that Apple is quickly advancing the technology? Explain to me how that iscrews you. Maybe that is one of the defining characteristics of a PC fanboy.
This sketch is called satire. If they were just trying to knock Apple and iPods, they wouldn't include the last 15 seconds. They include PC's to contrast what the alternative to continual innovation is: Your world.
The iscrewed part is the 'i bought an iphone and they dropped the price 6 weeks later'. No one said that technology moving fast was a bad thing Michael. But Lord Jobs said himself "you have to buy a new iPod at least once a year". Which I think is nuts.
I know the sketch satire, I posted it. I know that they took a shot at PC, but to think this wasn't also a shot at Apple smacks of fanboy love. Ya see, I can see the evil in both companies. Unlike some fanboys.
There is nothing nuts or evil about making a new ipod every year, and the evil was not in reference to this post.
The question was asked by NBC's Brian Williams about "why a new iPod might seem outdated as soon as you take it out of the box. Then Jobs offered a bit of advice to consumers: "If you always want the latest and greatest, then you have to buy a new iPod at least once a year."
Evil? No. Absurd? Yes.
Innovation is great.... As long as you don't go broke trying to keep up with it.

If anything, this is very complimentary to the iPod and Apple in general.
"PC's. We don't keep changing our product. We always suck, and that's somthing you can count on."
The only thing this skit didn't knock was Vista and folks "downgrading" to XP.
" i got iscrewed"
That is a classic line. The last 15 seconds is the only part doggin the PC, the rest is all Apple.
You're kiddin', right?

Nelson, as a budding journalist, you should know better. Don't take your source out of context.
Now let's hear that full quote: "If you always want the latest and greatest, then you have to buy a new iPod at least once a year."
In other words, Apple's gonna keep innovating, and making a new iPod each year. What's nuts or evil about that?
Here's another quote:
Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower. -Steven P. Jobs

Why's that absurd? Some folks sell their used iPods on eBay, as spoofed in this video, then upgrade. No need to go broke.
