Rumor mill has stopped over at Crunchgear, and word has it that Verizon will be the carrier of choice for the Samsung F700, and it should be out by years end. No word on if the phone will be available unlocked, but I sure hope so. Check the bullet points:
- HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, EDGE 900/1800/1900 MHz + 2.1 GHz
- 5 Megapixel With Auto-Focus
- Full Touch Screen
- Fold-out QWERTY keyboard
- Bluetooth/USB
- Full HTML Browsing
- microSD

Those stats don't make a whole lot of sense to me. Verizon is a CDMA carrier. Edge and HSPDA are both GSM technologies. I did not think that Verizon, who is owned by Vodafone of Europe, would be making the switch this quickly. It was only recently announced that they'd be converting the US to the GSM technology.
What I don't understand is no 3G. Now that is not cool.
HSPDA is 3G. 3G is either HSPDA or UMTS
