Well this I didn't expect at all!!!
The HP BlackBird that has been talked about as the gaming PC to have, has gotten a 'not so good' rating from MaximumPC. They gave it a 7/10 for two reasons, one is because Vista kills the game performance in the system, and two the slower ATI cards. This is just another black eye for Vista, which was trumpeted as a game friendly OS. I'm sure that the graphics cards have to take some of the blame, but when these guys are recommending the XPS systems (which has XP) over a Vista system that was promised to kick all forms of ass, that's not good. I'm curious how this system would have performed had it ran Windows XP.
To quote MaximumPC..... "It's just faster."

As an owner of Vista Ultimate let me repeat, "DON'T BUY VISTA UNTILL AT LEAST SERVICE PACK 1 IS OUT!!!"
I wonder why people keep having problems with Vista. All my games run at least the same speed. I know people want to have all the bells and whistles on, but it was the same in XP when that came out. People have to decide what features to turn off and leave on. I think people just seem to forget that since they've gotten used to tweaking XP.
Yeah, I hear what you're saying Malcolm; but I'll speak for myself and say, when I laid out the amount of dough for Vista Ultimate I wasn't thinking, scale the thing back (especially visually) to XP.
I understand there will be growing pains; and that's why I'm so looking forward to SP1.
