It looks like Apple is dragging out an old idea and making it new again. Appleinsider is reporting that Apple's team of engineers will be developing a new version of 'Newton', a PDA type device that was out in the early 90's. The 'Newton 2.0 will be 1.5 the size of the iphone and will have the same form factor, including the touch aspect. The unit will have copy and paste and drag and drop abilities, and have a high-resolution display of 720×480.
Newton 2.0 is rumored to hit sometime in the first half of next year.

I remember being in a meeting with another agency in the early '90s, and they all broke out their Newtons. I was stunned and envious!
