I know a lot of people ran out and bought a PS3 with the idea of adding a Blu-Ray player to their home theater system. While this was a good idea, (if you just wanted a Blu-Ray player) many home theater owners don't like the fact that they have to control the Blu-Ray feature with a game controller. Although you may have a universal remote, the PS3 doesn't have an IR port to allow the unit to be used with them.
That's why Messiah's Darklite PS3 remote not only looks good, but will control the PS3's Blu-Ray feature. It uses a USB connector to charge via the PS3, and has a cool blue back lighting on it. The Darklite has simple controls on the surface, but works like a cell phone slider to reveal more advanced features.
It's due for release on September 25 for $30, which isn't bad not to have to use the clunky game controller. [Messiah via Gizmodo]
