Compelling E-mail Alternative

More often than not, people complain about Microsoft Outlook or Windows Mail. Syncing with PDA's are horror stories that rival SAW.
One dark horse that has had it's ups & downs, but have a loyal throng of followers who swear by it and the progress it has made recently into the open source world. Now, it is under the Mozilla umbrella and it very well may kick Outlook's proverbial behind when it comes to stability, and ease of syncing with phones, pda's etc. also, they have equivelent platforms for Windows and Mac! It's called the Eudora/Penelope project from Mozilla & Qualcomm.
