Sharp Intro's A Lighter, Thiner Aquos Line

Sharp is improving on their 1080p Aquos line by introducing their new D64U series, which is about 25% thinner and about 20% lighter than the previous models. The new LCD's have a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and a 4ms response time, and the black levels are better than the former models.

The new line comes in 65, 52, 46, and 42-inch screen sizes, and have recessed speakers and side terminals. But the best improvement is the side viewing angle has been improve to 176 degree angle.

The "Pricing is $2,099 for the 42-inch, $2,699 for the 46-inch, and $3,799 for the 52-inch". The 65 incher will be out in September, but there is no word on pricing for it yet.

That's pretty interesting...because my 46" has th 10,000:1 contrast and 4 ms refresh. The older 42" models did not have that, I believe they were at 6,000:1 and 6ms.

I love my Aquos and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a 1080p TV. I love mine! Best picture I've ever had, and it looks great mounted.
