Oh look, we have another highly anticipated game delayed.
This time it's Grand Theft Auto IV being pushed back, this according to 'Take-Two' who created the game. GTA 4 was scheduled for release this October, but now has been moved back to second quarter of 2008.
Yeah that's right, spring of 2008
Chairman Strauss Zelnick of Take-Two said "certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected."

I say, Blizzard (not the company involved here) has it right; Don't release the game unless it's nearly perfect, less than a .0001 compatibility problem, one bug a year.
Oh yeah, and every game becomes game of the year and sell more than anyone else. Why?
They push back dates rather than sell broken shit.
I wish that were the case for Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Sony (publisher) forced them to release the game waaaay too early, and the fan base that was eagerly awaiting a new, fresh game was bitterly disappointed.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sony also released Star Wars Galaxies; I heard so many horror stories about that game.
They even admitted they were wrong, and apologized and tried to re release it. It still sucked, and was broken.
