Service Packs leaked For Vista

The release of Microsoft's Vista Performance and Reliability Pack and Vista Compatibility and Reliability Pack was scheduled for August 14th. The service pack is said to fix nagging bugs that have plagued the new OS since its release (which is needed).

Well somehow, through the magic that is the Internet, the service pack is available now. Now I wonder how that could have happened?

Make sure you have 7-zip so you can uncompress the files. Thanks Crunchgear!

Is this the FINAL SP that they plan on shipping? Double check, are you sure? I don't want to dump not ready for prime time code on my already shakey behaving Vista install.

Please let me know! :)

Don't think so Fred, this stuff shouldn't even be out. Install at your own risk.

Oh come on, Fred. I've seen you nuke a hard drive 3x in the same week just because you didn't like the drivers for the LAN adapter.

/kidding

My Windoze 2000 was last installed in 'o3 and it still runs like a (busted) clock. It's right twice a day....

I never nuked my primary machines hard drive. Where we worked, I had an alternate Notebook Hard Drive with which I'd nuke and start fresh from on my spare time (like when I was on call with a customer HAHAHA)

It is for that very reason that I caution folks just as Nelson has; "Install at your own risk."
Nelson said it, and I agree.

I now do my experimental instalations with Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. It's a great tool!
