Well I guess it's finally official now.
Sony sent a press release stating that they're dropping the price of the PS3 60gig system to $499, and also will be introducing the PS3 80gig system at $599. I'm really not sure why you would need the 80gig system, considering that there isn't many games out there to take advantage of it. No one bought the 60gig system at $599, why would they buy the 80gig system at the same price?
I don't think hard drive space was the issue.
I'm thinking they should have kept the 20gig system around, put all the bells and whistles that the 60gig one had, and dropped that down to $399.
Oh well, wishful thinking I guess.
