MacBook Pro Runs Vista Faster... Until Phantom-X

You knew that this was going to happen, it was just a matter of time. It seems that the commercials for how the MacBook Pro runs Windows Vista faster than any other laptop is going to be short lived. Seem that PC World never tested a laptop that was faster than the MacBook Pro, and it wasn't until weeks later that they tested the Eurocom D900C Phantom-X, which blew the MacBook Pro out of the water by a wide margin. I'm curious to see if Apple will now stop showing their commercial now.

Ya see, benchmarks rarely last very long, and it certainly doesn't go well when they haven't tested other laptops that are faster.

That was dumb.

That was kinda stupid. But logically speaking, once Apple gets around to incorporating faster Intel chips with more cache, and newer chipsets and video cards into the newer MacBooks that title may go back and forth.

However, I wonder if Apple will try to get in a hardware race like that. I don't think that's their objective as much as possibly building the foundation to offer Leopard for PC's.

Either way, competition is good!

I highly doubt the average consumer knows what a Phantom-X is. The report that the Mac ran Windoze faster than a PC has been published, so there's no reason for Apple to stop the commercial. It's very effective. Why buy a PC when you can run the better OS for the stuff you want, the Dark Side for the stuff you need, and do it at least as fast as a high-end PC?

You know what. I finally just read that fastest thing on PC World and it is a load of crap. The Macbook Pro has a T7700 Core 2 duo and they gloated that it beat out a piece of crap Gateway with a T7500. Well, you know what a v-8 usually beats a v-6 in a 0-60. They should be ashamed of themselves. I wonder how much money apple gave them to print that obviously slanted byline.
