Oh look..... It's another movie-tie in game!!!
I guess you could've seen this one a mile away, with the announcement of the upcoming Speed Racer live action movie. Warner Brothers Interactive will launch the Speed Racer game that will tie into the feature film. What is rather strange is that it will be released on the Wii and Nintendo DS and later for the PS2 during the DVD release.
The Wachowski brothers will be a big part of the development of the game, and will add their direction and assets to it. You will be able to race as any of the main characters, and the brothers describe the game play as "car-fu" style action. Check the quote from Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Development and Production, Warner Bros: “The game will capture the intensity of the racing in the film to give gamers and movie fans a chance to take the wheel after they experience the film.”
Well I hope they spend some time actually making a good movie!

I'm sure we all LOVED Speed Racer. I am looking forward to the movie; and I'm sure they could make a much more interesting game than the typical "drive and turn left on the oval" game. At least I hope so!
