If you were waiting for 'Mario Kart' for the Wii release this year, you're going to be waiting longer than that. Looks like it will be an 2008 release says Nintendo.
According to computerandvideogames.com, Nintendo had this to say about the release:
"For the holidays we have a huge line-up of Wii games already, including Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Pokémon Battle Revolution. Fans will not be hurting for great games to play."
Well I guess they told us!!!

I'll give Nintendo big ups for their previous releases of Mario Kart on both console and portable platforms. However, as a fan of the ATV series and with NASCAR and Indycar releases on the other platforms (Specifically NASCAR '08) If purchasing a console weighed on racing games; I wouldn't wait a year to get Mario Kart on a Wii. Test Drive, Forza Motersport, Gran Turismo 5 (I think), There are WAY more compelling racing games on the other next genBig Boys (PS3 & Xbox360) To put it bluntly; I'd rather play the older last gen releases then wait for Mario Kart.
