Flash Based Video iPod Put On Ice

Well, it looks like a flash based video iPod won’t be coming this year after all. It’s no secret that Apple has been planning a flash memory video iPod, but the exact time table has been in question for a very long time.

Apple has placed monthly orders of 20 million 1GB NAND flash memory units for Q3, but they say the MP3 giant won’t be competitive because the models available wouldn’t be big enough for consumers. While other rumors say that Apple will offer flash based video iPods this year regardless of memory size.

Come on Apple, lets get this out there!!!

  1. I'm a big fan of fast flash memory devices; I have a two gig one for using Readyboost in Vista. It does a great job, and speeds things up significantly.

Before Vista came out, there were many articlas floating around different tech sites saying that Flash Memory simply isn't a good thing; becase slowly at first, parts of it start to fail; and the older it gets, the more it fails.

I've seen NOTHING to support this. So I say more power to any company utilizing this technology. It's fast, great, and furthermore, you can't stop science!!!! LOL
